The belief in auras has been around for centuries, though they seem to only have to the attention of the greater public in recent decades. More and more individuals are being drawn toward the spiritual aspects of life, many of which come across auras. There are several definitions of auras, of possible colors, and what these colors indicate about a person. In the field of Science, they would be called an electro-magnetic field which can actually be measured via equipment. Other people believe that the auras are an expression of the soul, or even the soul itself. As it is with most avenues of spirituality, what an aura is, how it functions and what it means is decided by personal belief. It would be unfortunate to discount all possibilities, for you never know what can be gained by approaching another’s perspective.

For the sake of space and time, this will merely be a brief interlude into the concept of auras. Information is readily available both in books and on the internet for those who seek to further their research.

To begin with, auras are often perceived as being a certain color. Are they visible on our physical plane? To some, yes. Yet to others, they are not. Why this seems to be the case is debatable. For example, auras maybe only be visible to those who believe in their existence. Or perhaps we all can see auras, but have become so accustomed to their presence that they disappear into the mold of existence. It is believed by many that auras exist around everything, even inanimate objects as well as animals. According to science, everything has an electro-magnetic field, which means everything contains energy. To must, this is simplistic scientific thought. Does this mean that every contains an aura? Again, that is up to personal opinion.
Personal experience indicates that some people find it easier to feel auras, as opposed to seeing them. In fact, it isn’t necessary to be capable of perceiving them at all if you are gifted with the ability to feel them. Many people claim it is easier to glimpse an aura if there is a white wall in the background. There are many different exercises in learning how to see them, but as it is stated above, seeing isn’t absolutely necessary. So if you cannot manage to, no matter how hard you try, perhaps you are approaching auras from the wrong angle. There are always more senses to explore and experiment with.
It is very important to note that aura reading contains multiple layers, and doesn’t necessarily indicate emotions. Auras have the ability to reveal pain, desire, guardian spirits, and life changes in addition to moods. This alone brushes the surface, as future discoveries may expose further information concerning auras and what the colors signify. With this information in mind, it is time to move onto the basic colors.

Red: The infamous color of anger and passion. However, it can also indicate inflammation, pain on both a physical or emotional level, and determination. This color is associated with the base or root chakra.

Orange: This is considered to be a very positive color, unless it is muddied and closer to a brown shade. It can indicate extroversion, joy, energy, and courage. In a hazed or muddy state, it can indicate worry, imbalance, pain, and other negative emotions. This color is associated with the solar plexus.

Yellow: A studious color that implies intellectual activity or the pursuit of a spiritual path. Muddied could indicate a need for attention, or overtly analytical thinking, as well as judgment. Yellow is associated with stomach chakra.

Green: This is a color of healing as well as growth. People who predominantly have green in their aura are usually balanced, capable of healing, and are immensely calming. Muddied shades of green point to jealousy, a need of healing, and possessiveness. Green is associated with the heart chakra.

Blue: Another color of the mind, except that blue hues indicate creativity and imagination. Blue is also an indicator of psychic ability. On emotional levels, it can indicate loyalty, truth and honesty. Muddier shades point to anxiety, a closed mind and over sensitivity. This color is often associated with the throat chakra.

Indigo, Violet, Purple: These are the colors of spirituality, especially shades of purple which additionally indicate psychic gifts. These colors will be particularly notable in highly spiritual individuals. Muddied shades can indicate a craving for sympathy and overbearingness in the personality. These hues are associated with the third eye chakra.

White: As it is known, white symbolizes purity, truth, and a high spiritual level. This color is associated with the crown chakra.

Black: Black can indicate a need for healing on an emotional, mental and physical level, though it doesn’t necessarily mean death on every occasion. In most cases, black is a warning sign for the requirement of healing and nothing more.

Gold: Before you assume this means wealth, it doesn’t. Auras are not concerned with the economical state of an individual, though if money truly makes someone happy, that emotion can have an affect on the aura. Gold usually implies spiritual strength as well as protection.

Silver: This color has a very similar meaning to white, except perhaps taken to the next level of intensity.

These colors and their meanings are not written in stone, just some ideas for chakra centers as well as possible interpretations. The best way of determined what colors mean is through experience and experimentation. Figure out what they mean to you, and how those meanings correlate with observations, intuition and thoughts you have while attempting to read auras. There is not right or wrong way. Additionally, its important to realize that auras, like everything else, change. Consider all the emotional, mental and physical activity a human being experiences in one single day. It would be logical to guess that all these activities affect the state of the aura, and that it is never exactly the same on any given day.

Perhaps it is possible to change everyday faucet water into healing water. By saying a blessing before hand and stating your purpose, use the energy or chi, to cleanse the water and induce it with healing energies.

I attempted this briefly with a bottle of faucet water. I pulled off what felt were toxins and sludge, and sent that energy into the Earth to be cleansed and transformed into something positive. The water was notably different in appearance and taste, but only subtly. I am not certain that I performed the cleansing and detoxification long enough. This is something I will experiment with further. Healing water could be immensely useful for people and animals. I'd love to explore this further.

I asked the Archangel Michael to bless my hands for healing purposes. It felt as though warm energy entered through my hands and went up my arms.

I feel ready. It is time to be a healer. This would never have made sense if Jan hadn't given his workshop on Wednesday. Thank you, Great Spirit, for putting Jan into my life.

South - Shawnodese

The Spirit Keeper of the South is represented by the element Water.

Mineral: Serpentine
Plant: Sagebrush
Animal: Coyote
Colors: Yellow and Green
Season: Summer
Time of Day: Midday
Time of Life: Older childhood, adolescence and young adulthood.

The power of Shawnodese is also paradoxical. It brings the time of rapid growth. We begin a more directed form of exploration. The South is a place where many seek visions and ask the Creator to point them in the direction they should go. After the direction is made known, people must follow it so rapidly that they must learn to trust the Creator and not question their path. Shawnodese gives the gifts of energy, adaptability, maturity, playfulness and humor to aid us. Its a time of self-assurance and acceptence. Its a time of giving and receiving love in many meanings of the word. A time of learning about relationships.

The paradox is that Coyote is waiting around at this time and prepared to do whatever he needs in order to make us grown inwardly. To some he is a nuisance, a thief and a scoundrel. To others he is a symbol of freedom and mystery. A fitting paradoxical totem for Shawnodese. He often involves himself in making us fall in love; especially with someone we never imagined we would fall in love with. A powerful human lesson.

The power of Shawnodese is mysterious and a changing power. It is a good time to explore love, relationships and the world around you. To learn who you are and how it compares with who you feel you should be, to take the first steps toward your own maturity.

Be careful not to burn yourself out trying to do everything. Use some common sense in your relationships. Learn how to protect yourself. There is a time to be open and a time to contain your energy and your feelings within yourself.

Shawnodese is the place of the heart, the place of emotions. Its here we come when we need healing of the heart, when we need to learn to let go of all that is not love; hate, fear, envy, jealousy, rage and anger.

The Shawnodese Stone is the place to come if you are having problems with a relationship, or if you are looking for a relationship. This is a position where you will learn about charm, nurturance, trust, gullibility, humor and manipulation. It will teach you about sexuality and sensuality, and how they differ, and how they are the same. Its a stone to ask for healing of emotions and the heart.

Shawnodese is the power of Growth.

North - Waboose

Spirit Keeper of the North is represented by the element Earth.
Mineral: alabaster
Plant: Sweet Grass
Animal: White Buffalo
Color: White
Season: Winter
Time of Day: Midnight

The North is a time of paradox. It is a time of slowing down, apparent restriction, when outward activity diminishes. It is a time of darkness, quiet, and dreams. A time to reminisce and share gained wisdom. It can be a time of peace and power, of forgiveness and compassion. It is a time to give up old patterns, surrender to small changes of body and mind in preparation for the major changes to come.

Waboose is a time of beginning and ending, much like the Goddess Cardea. She who opens what is closed, and closes what is open.

The major lesson of Waboose is that of giving away.

When experiencing a moon influenced by Waboose; its a good time to contemplate your life, and paradoxes of life. Think about questions of life and death, examine your attitudes toward both. Its a time to learn patience. Psychic and mystic abilities will be above average. See how you feel about giving away the many gifts life has given you.

Make a point of grounding yourself during this time. Remember, you are a being of the Earth, as well as one of the sky. While your mind wanders through the skies, you must also learn to take care of your body here on Earth. Both realities need care, respect, and attention. Balance is the key.

Waboose is a place of physical healing, the place we come to give thanks for healing, or ask for healing to take place.

The power of Waboose is acceptence of life, acceptence of death, and acceptence of the necessity of sharing all that has been given.

First day of my Spiritual diet. Fresh vegetables and fruits, with no dressing. Water, milk or juices for beverages. I will not drink Pepsi for a week or indulge in frivolous consumption. My goal is that this will bring me closer to understanding my root chakra, and it will be a challenge for myself. It is a test to prove to myself that I can put in the dedication and effort. Perhaps I will learn to do the same in other areas of life.

The past two days have I have been experiencing an emotional, mental and spiritual upheaval. It is hard to balance between the two realities; one foot in this reality, and the other foot in the second reality. Both coexist. Most don't see or pay heed to the second, though it is here, as much as our physical reality is here.

While I am challenging myself, it seems Spirit is also giving me a challenge. To find balance, calm the ego, take the excess energy and do something with it. I don't have answers yet, but in time...as revelations come. I'll be certain to write them down in here.

Jan has been most kind and helpful. He is, above all, a dear friend and teacher. I'm truly grateful and blessed to know him. Thank you, Great Spirit.

Remember to always laugh at yourself and the ironies of life.

She enters the cavernous dark haven,
whispered sweet,
and fragmented.

Two feet, she has
that step along the shadowed path,
one whose toes echo in eternity
upon the blue dream road.
The other foot, whose steps
are threatened to sink amongst
the other mindless mannequins.

Fight! She screams
lingering chords in telepathy.
As the warrior blood surges
from the depths of her internal eternity,
Apache man,
drums beating as Eagle's bold
heart,
wings racing frantically toward
evolution.

Peaceful warrior,
he smiles at the young.
Kind wisdom irises patiently watch,
waiting in his woven thread,
entangling her in love and reverence.

"Welcome home, two-legged,"
he says.

This came to me after picking a flowered branch off the sidewalk on campus. I was with Amanda.

First hang the branch of flowers to dry, by tying them with a ribbon, string, yarn or a gentle rope securely around the stem. Fasten it to the wall, or ceiling, depending on what space is most available and appropriate. When the branch has finished drying, place a cleansing and healing spell over it. From the beginning, it is important to imbue your branch with the intention of healing and cleansing. This will enhance the affect. Doing this will aid it in being readily available for a cleansing ritual. It would be wise to do the ritual near a body of water, whether it is a river, stream, lake or even the ocean. The reason for involving water is due to the obviously known qualities of cleansing that this element is capable of. Additionally, the branch can be blessed and tossed into the water. As the branch will hold the negative energy, placing it in moving water will clean it from the branch and transform the energy. Placing the branch in the water after the ceremony also allows the energy to return back to the Earth.

The ceremony itself requires two people at the least: the person who needs their aura/energy to be cleansed, and the person to perform the ritual. The blessed branch should be brushed over the individual, who should stand with their arms spread open, eyes closed, and their feet slightly apart in a firm stance. Who ever is performing the ritual should focus their mind and energy on the task, adding their own positive energy to the branch. They will also be the one to toss the branch into the river.

Once the ritual is completed, if God, the Goddess or any other deity had been invoked, they should be thanked in a form of closing. It is important to show thanks and gratitude to the water, the earth and the branch. A prayer of thanks giving will suffice. You can recite an already written one, or one you have composed personally.

The end result will hopefully be a cleaner aura and a light, floating feeling. Do some grounding, or just go out and have fun afterwards! But remember, a good cleansing also requires the depositing of that which holds us down...thoughts, objects, feelings, or whatever it is that disturbs our peaceful existence. It is advised that the individual that has been cleansed meditate in order to discern how this negativity came about, and how they can help prevent it in the future. It is important to remember that we are in control of our lives, and our minds. We are our own greatest healers.

I woke up around 5:30am from this dream, feeling as though someone shoved me back into my body. It still aches.

In the dream, it began with just Phil and I discussing our relationship...we got to cuddling, and it was all fine and nice. Skipping ahead. I was at home, walking through the living room with a cuppa, when I saw a mask on the floor under the entertainment center. I walked onto the front porch, found mum, and started talking to her. But something felt strange. I walked back into the lobby and stared at the mask. It began to levitate. My mouth dropped open. I watched it, paralyzed for a few moments until I regained composure and ran onto the front porch to tell mom all about it. It levitated higher and higher and floated after me. I grabbed the phone and called Phil up, to tell him to get his ass over here, because this was amazing. I walked back into the lobby, and noticed that a stuffed animal had been switched with the mask. And other objects had been moved around.

Mom called some kind of investigative crew...like the police, except they appeared more under-cover agent-like. Or Mobish. This is around the time that the entity entered my body. Phil was there trying to help me, and I started flipping out on him in a menacing, crazy kind of way. I told him about one of the entity's past lives as a handicap man, which seemed to provoke the spirit. I attempted to banish it from my body, but failed. This happened three times throughout the dream. It wasn't until I beat on children, frightened animals, and injured a pregnant woman that looked a lot like my mother that I decided to really try and get the entity out. Phil and I discussed white sage, but I lifted my hands to the sky and invoked the Goddess, and the moon, and sang/chanted in what my mind claimed to be ancient Celtic, and this swirling energy left my body and went up into the night. Someone spoke into my mind and said it was an initiation.

What is behind the human mind that links us with the occult, the spiritual and the religious? Certainly there are hundreds of books, ranging from every vault of culture and human thinking that attempts to explain this phenomenon. However, what if we remove the complex jargon, or the fabrications of society, what would be left? Perhaps humanity cannot explain it. Perhaps humanity is not meant to understand. Yet that does not deter us from exploration within the mind and soul. An inspiration to conceive beyond the visible, physical world is hardly a new field of exploration. What many fail to realize is that human beings have always sought the spiritual in an infinite amount of forms. Ancient history weaves documentations in every culture, where people have turned to spirituality, religion, and magic to assess everyday life.

Modern man has a pre-conceived assumption that ancient practices lack scientific merit. To some degree, this can be proven. However, at the time, before the arena of science was first recognized intellectually as a field, people relied on less sophisticated forms of observation. It wasn’t considered ignorance to believe that a God drove the sun across the sky, suspended by a chariot. To those ancient peoples, this was the truth. In the present, the truth has an entirely different description, but had it been proposed during ancient Greek times, you would, no doubt, be considered deranged. There are many examples in history of people being persecuted for creating a perspective that goes against the main beliefs of society. Over the decades, we have had to re-write our description of knowledge, showing that it is not truth that governs our lives; so much as it is change. For even truth fluctuates over time.

In both spirituality and the paranormal domains, the search for truth has always been a robust motivation. Yet how can any one human being determine what is the truth for one and all of humanity? Despite what we determine, belief has proven to have an integral impact on our lives.

Some theories state that belief is powered by energy. In fact, everything in our existence is powered by energy of some sort, though it often is disguised under a variety of names. Prayer can be perceived as a force of energy sent out into the universe. Auras, for example, are energy fields that surround the body which often take on a certain color according to emotion, thought, or activity. In scientific terms, however, this energy is nothing more then an electro-magnetic field. Does that de-bunk the theory of auras? Or does it conclude that auras actually exist, as we can scientifically prove it? No researcher will ever definitely state it is one or the other. Science has lead mankind through many discoveries, but even science is fallible. A hypothesis isn’t created to be proven true or false. Most scientists will try to avoid such black and white assessments. How can we explore our existence if we are confronted with an impenetrable wall? One of the most important aspects of being a researcher is maintaining an open mind, whether in the paranormal field or in any other.

Most people fail to realize the paranormal field is approached with science and spirituality. Science and religion began to merge during the Renaissance era, though it is far easier to detect it in our modern times. I believe it is a grave assessment to claim that science and religion are segregated, for that doesn’t appear to be the case at all. In fact, science has found its way into the religious and spiritual mode of thought, whether or not it is recognized. Instead of viewing science as the de-bunker of religion, why not employ it to delve into the spiritual essence of our existence?

I had a dream involving a Scottish actor who supposedly played Oliver Wood in the Harry Potter movies. Except this gentleman was in his twenties and looked nothing like the guy in the movie. Anyway. An exchange student asked me for his phone number, so I told her I didn't have it. She refused to believe me, and thought I was lying! So I told her repeatedly that I honestly didn't have it. This little fiasco turned into a diaster where we stormed away from one another. I was wearing a Starfleet uniform, and it took place in a hotel. Before I know it, he calls me over. We start talking about average things, and I treated him like an ordinary human being. He seemed to like this a lot. We talked long into the night, he gave me his phone number, stating he'd help teach me how to drive. Before I know it, we're making out. Totally unexpected. So I leave, go up to my room and such. But this is where the problem comes in...I kissed someone else while I was dating Phil. That thought haunted me through out the dream, but I was hopelessly infatuated with this Oliver Wood. We hung out a bit, before he disappeared. I tried to find him while beating myself up over what happened. It seems as though he was drunk that one night, and in a better state of mind, found other women attractice and was chasing them.

The Hawthorn Tree.. 13 May - 9 June - Hawthorn, or May, was a symbol of psychic protection due to its sharp thorns. Faery spirits were thought to live in Hawthorn hedges, which were planted as protective shields around fields, houses and churchyards. Hawthorn people are mercurial, innovative, creative and confident. Easily bored, they crave mental stimulation and challenge. They are eloquent and gifted performers, exuding natural charm.

Character Reference Of The Hawthorn Tree Sign

Hawthorn tree people are full of innovations and new ideas. People born under this sign are multi - talented and adapt easily to any changes in their lives. They have personal qualities akin to the celtic bards and druids of old, often excelling in the performing arts and naturally drawn to spheres of influence. Generally, their great strength is knowing the weaknesses of their adversaries or any opposing forces, but they are not ruthless people, merely clever strategists. People born during the first two weeks of the lunar month are more impulsive and have a more sensual nature. Their positive traits are, however, extremely consolidating once they have decided upon their course of action. People born in the last two weeks have a distinctly different approach to all things, and are much more difficult to pin down regarding personal relationships or commitments of any kind. Their positive traits are linked to a wider vision that opens the locked doors of the mind.

The hawthorn is a small tree that was often used for hedging, and it has a mixed reputation. Known to be both a sign of fertility and death, it was said to contain the knowledge of both reproduction and transformation. Both of these processes take time - and if you were born under the sign of hawthorn, you have an innate understanding of both the importance of process and the necessity for change. Your challenge is to use that understanding to guide you when undertaking new starts - don't rush. Wait, and prepare carefully.
